Electric Scooter No Road Tax!

When you tell someone you can get about town at 30mph without petrol, road tax, congestion fees, fumes or emissions, they think you are talking about pedalling furiously on a pushbike.

But their eyes soon light up when you introduce them to the latest in green twist n go electric scooters, the Ego Electric Street Scoota.

It looks like a standard 50cc scooter, but instead of running on petrol, it's 100% electric.

Here's how it works.

1. Plug it in to the nearest mains socket just like you would a kettle.

2. Charge the battery.

3. Ride it.

How easy is that?!

And when I say ride it, I mean ride it like you would any other twist and go scooter. There are no gears. Just twist the accelerator with your right hand and off you go!

It has a top speed of 30mph and
an eight hour charge gives around 40 miles of eco-friendly scootering. The powerful 1400 watt motor delivers ample torque to get you from A to B.

Just think. No more traffic jams. No more searching for a parking place. No more petrol stations.

Scooters are traditionally cheap to run anyway, but this is where the Ego Street Scoota comes into its own.

A full eight hour charge works out at about a penny an hour. So to travel five miles will cost you about a penny. And remember there is no road tax to pay either.

You'll need a driving licence to ride an electric scooter just as you would any other scooter.

If you have held a full driving licence since before February 2001, then no further testing is required.

If you obtained a full driving licence after February 2001, then Compulsory Bike Training (CBT) is required. CBT can be completed in a day and you can then ride your scooter without L plates.

If you have a provisional moped licence, then CBT must be taken and scooter must be ridden with L plates until a full bike test is taken (CBT lasts for two years).

And of course by going electric you'll be doing your bit for the environment. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, electric scooters are 99% less polluting than the cleanest fossil fuel powered vehicles.

The Ego Electric Street Scoota is available from Firebox for £999.95.
