Brighten up the greyest of rainy days with a twilight umbrella
Thursday December 27th 2007, 19:15

Biggest Swiss Army KnifeIt rains where I live. A lot. And that usually means I get wet because I more often than not forget to pick up an umbrella as I leave the house. Even although I know that it rains where I live. A lot.

But those days may well be over thanks to one of my favourite Christmas presents - an umbrella with tiny blue fibre optic lights.

As it happens, it wasn't actually given to me - it was given to my wife. But as we are married and what's mine is hers and what's hers is mine, it is probably technically my umbrella with blue fibre optic lights.

Anyways, the Twilight Umbrella is just like any other umbrella as far as keeping you dry goes, but with one flick of the switch on the handle this little beauty lights up like only umbrellas with fibre optic lights can. And if you're the one walking down the street with the lights on, even the designer kids with genuine Gucci umbrellas have to bow to your infinite wisdom in having an umbrella that actually brings some joy to the world on a miserable wet day.

Apparently, there's a Twilight Umbrella that has tiny colour phasing lights that change from red to green to blue as you parade up and down the street in the pouring rain, but that was a couple of pounds dearer and my brother-in-law went for the cheaper option. Tight git. I just hope the shocking alarm clock we gave him zaps him good and proper.
