How to start a fire without matches
Tuesday May 26th 2009, 13:48

Fire StarterI take my hat off to the likes of Bear Grylls who are busy climbing Mount Everest and crossing the Sahara while I'm barely capable of finding my way around the M25 and the closest I've ever come to mounting an expedition is a fortnightly trip to Tesco.

I do however know how to start a campfire without matches, no matter the weather.

It can be pouring with rain, blowing a gale, or below zero, and I can get a fire going - thanks to Mag Fire.

Simply unleash your Mag Fire, give it a strike and - behold - you have fire. It really is that simple.

The Mag Fire is good for 3,000 strikes (that's a lot of campfires even for Bear Grylls), its water and oil resistant, is safe to use and can even be used as a signal to summon help. You could even show off and use it to light your barbeque.

The Mag Fire is available from The Gadget Shop price £8.99.
